The first performance audit of the Asbestos Response Taskforce by the Auditor-General can give the community confidence that the Loose Fill Asbestos Insulation Eradication Scheme is being delivered in an efficient and effective manner.

The Asbestos Response Taskforce Community and Expert Reference Group has arranged to bring internationally recognised clinical psychologist and expert in community recovery, Dr Rob Gordon, back to Canberra to work with homeowners dealing with the emotional impact of the 'Mr Fluffy' legacy.
Rob will be facilitating three workshops on 21 February 2017, with the theme 'Moving Forward'. They are designed for 20 participants to maximise the opportunity to explore personal experiences.Read more

The Asbestos Response Taskforce is working closely with its industry partners to ensure ‘Mr Fluffy’ properties remain safe and secure over the Christmas and New Year period.
No programmed works will take place from Saturday 24 December 2016 to Monday 2 January 2017 inclusive. A longer demolition shutdown period will also apply from Thursday 22 December 2016 to Sunday 8 January 2017 inclusive.
Demolitions will re-commence on Monday 9 January 2017.

The Asbestos Response Taskforce has released the fourth update to the Indicative Demolition Schedule, the third update for 2016.
The Taskforce remains committed to keeping the community informed about the roll out of the ‘Mr Fluffy’ demolition program.
The regular release of the Indicative Demolition Schedule is a useful way to keep homeowners, neighbours and the general public informed about planned demolitions.
As at 7 December 2016, 502 houses had been demolished across Canberra through the ACT Government program. The release of the updated Schedule reflects indicative planning for the demolition of a further 388 properties through to late 2017.
The Schedule will continue to regularly updated and publicly released.Read more

The Asbestos Response Taskforce will be holding an information event in Weston on Saturday 20 August 2016 at the Weston Creek Community Centre, adjacent to Cooleman Court in Parkinson Street, Weston. Between 1-3pm we'll be available to answer questions on asbestos-related activity in the area, and to chat about how we're working to safely remove Mr Fluffy from your community.

The Asbestos Response Taskforce today released its updated Indicative Demolition Schedule, revising the targeted number of ‘Mr Fluffy’ demolitions in 2016 from 200 up to 350.
Head of the Asbestos Response Taskforce Andrew Kefford said the new target reflected the current efficiency of the demolition program and provided more accurate advice on demolition timings to homeowners and the community.

From 11 July 2016, the Personal Support Team (PST) will be available to meet with clients by appointment only at the outreach sites of Nature Conservation House Belconnen, Woden Community Services and the Tuggeranong Community Health Centre.

Head Contractor CaylaMax will recommence full demolition activity as part of the Mr Fluffy Demolition Program from Monday 4 June 2016, following completion of an internal audit investigation commissioned by the Taskforce.
When the Taskforce became aware of allegations relating to misuse of fittings and fixtures it commissioned the internal audit investigation and requested a separate criminal investigation by ACT Policing.
