Transparency - Why have you only released the suburbs where demolition activity will take place and not the addresses of specific houses?
The Taskforce has individually written to homeowners to provide an indicative six month window in which their house is scheduled for demolition to help them with their decision-making process.
Publicly the schedule outlines the number of houses to be demolished by suburb in the next three years and more detailed advice will be provided to neighbours by the Taskforce and contractors prior to demolition activity beginning. The asbestos removal and demolition activity can take four to six weeks.
A challenge in providing more specific information at a house level is the number of external variables which can impact on the scheduling such as weather, industry capacity and other issues. It would not be sustainable to continue to update scheduling at the house level publicly. Those that need to know this information, such as the former owners and immediate neighbours, will continue to be kept informed.
