What is the risk of being exposed to loose fill asbestos while a house nearby is being demolished?

The chance of a person being exposed to asbestos while a Mr Fluffy house is being demolished nearby is very low.

Measures are taken to remove most of the asbestos before the house is demolished. Any remaining asbestos fibres will be sprayed to secure them to the structure prior to structural demolition.

While asbestos fibres can become airborne when agitated, because they are relatively heavy (asbestos is a mineral) they do not easily travel long distances. Should any asbestos fibres become airborne at the site of a demolition, they should settle rapidly nearby.
