The Asbestos Response Taskforce is working closely with its industry partners to make Mr Fluffy properties safe and secure over the Christmas and New Year period.

There will be no demolition activity or programmed site works, such as asbestos removal or soil testing, between Wednesday 25 December 2019 and Wednesday 1 January 2020 inclusive.

Mr Fluffy Legacy Project
Release date: 07 June 2019

The Community and Expert Reference Group (CERG) is working with consultants, RPS Group, to develop and conduct a community consultation program looking at ways of permanently acknowledging the impacts of Mr Fluffy on those affected and the wider Canberra community.

Remaining Affected Properties – Supporting Pathways to Eradication

The Taskforce is conducting a range of activities designed to assist remaining homeowners as they explore pathways suited to their individual circumstances.

Release of the Affected Residential Premises Register
Release date: 06 December 2018

With many of the affected properties now demolished and new homes built, the Register has been published to enable members of the community, in particular tradespeople and care workers, to know whether they will be working in or visiting an affected property.

GST payment changes
Release date: 02 July 2018

As of 1 July 2018, GST payments will change for those who purchase a new residential premises or potential residential land.

The amount of GST will not change, it will be paid directly to the Australian Taxation Office (ATO) as part of the settlement process. For more information please visit the ATO website.

The Asbestos Response Taskforce is working closely with its industry partners to make Mr Fluffy properties safe and secure over the Christmas and New Year period.

Demolitions will cease on Friday 22 December 2017 and re-commence on Monday 8 January 2018. There will be no programmed site works, such as asbestos removal or soil testing, from Saturday 23 December 2017 to Monday 1 January 2018 inclusive.

ONGOING PROGRAM - Early intervention and mental health programs for children

Child and Family Centres run a range of mental health, wellness and resilience programs for children.

Referral to these programs is through intake workers located in Gungahlin, Tuggeranong and West Belconnen:

Fluffy Walkers

Fluffy Walkers is a community-led activity that meets every second Sunday for a 45 to 50 minute walk along the walking/cycle path at Weston Park, Yarralumla, followed by coffee and chat at the nearby café. It provides an opportunity for homeowners, tenants and others affected by Mr Fluffy loose fill asbestos insulation to meet others similarly affected. All are most welcome to join any scheduled walk.

Where: Weston Park, Yarralumla

When: Every second Sunday, with 12 January being the first scheduled walk for 2020. Meet at the cafe side of the car park at 10am for a prompt 10:10am start if you wish to join the walk or at the Yarralumla Gallery and Oaks Brasserie at 11am for coffee.
