Can I choose what I can keep or have removed from my block? I have a pool that I don't use, and I would rather buy my block back without it.

The Taskforce will undertake a demolition scoping assessment that will identify improvements that will be removed and those that will be retained as part of the demolition works.  This is based on a range of considerations such as contamination, demolition practicalities, whether removal or retention will cause erosion or impede site drainage, the approval status of the improvements and whether retention will add value to the remediated block.

There will be a separate discussion with First Right Holders about improvements that might be retained at their choice (i.e. preserved improvements). The Taskforce will not pay to remove improvements (outside its demolition scoping assessment) or undertake additional activities such as excavation for the new house foundations or tree removal on behalf of former owners.
