What is an asbestos management plan?
An asbestos management plan is prepared by a licensed asbestos assessor. The plan is prepared by an assessor undertaking an inspection of the house to:
- identify any contamination in the house (through settled dust samples)
- identify any points in which fibres can enter living areas such as holes, cracks or gaps
- recommend management actions to reduce risk of further exposure.
A licensed asbestos removalist then undertakes these recommended actions which could involve cleaning, sealing, locking and/or labelling.
